This recipe is from one of our member's mother - we hope you like it.



  • 6 cups of water
  • 2 bars of piloncillo
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 2 anise stars
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 4 teaspoons of fresh grounded Chiapas coffee (Colombian coffee can also work)



In a tall sauce pan add the water, piloncillo,  cloves, cinnamon and anise stars.


Bring to a boil and leave it for 5 minutes.


After the 5 minutes add the coffee and stir (this is for the coffee to release its flavors and for the piloncillo to fully dissolve). Taste for sweetness and flavor.
